Spearheads logistics planning, financing, and decision making. Answers directly to the Chief Operation Officer, President or Chief Executive Officer. Final decision maker regarding operational procedures, senior logistics management hiring, performance evaluation. It is not uncommon for company presidents, COO's or CEO's to have their background in transportation and logistics, particularly in the case of airlines, trucking companies and other transportation providers.
